The Dursley family, a perfectly normal English family, is introduced at the beginning of the story as they receive a newborn Harry Potter on their doorstep. Lily, the sister of Aunt Petunia, wed James Potter and became a prominent couple in the wizarding world.
Hagrid takes Harry to Diagon Alley, where he buys his books, wand, and robes from Ollivanders and the Leaky Cauldron, as well as some of his inheritance from Gringotts, the wizard bank. On the train to Hogwarts at stage Nine and 3/4, Harry meets his new companion Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger
An evil spirit scares them when they discover a unicorn killed and its blood all over the ground. The great centaur Firenze flies Harry away from risk in the backwoods when he finds who Harry is.
He sees Quirrell in the room without speaking. He concedes to facilitating Voldemort and attempting to annihilate Harry in the timberland. Voldemort wants to use Harry to get the Stone and then kill Quirrell, and Harry sees a double face on Quirrell's head when his turban is taken off. Harry attempts to kill Voldemort/Quirrel until he loses consciousness after discovering the Stone in his pocket.
